What usually slows things down

Most delays are avoidable. Getting these right first saves weeks.

  • Unclear logo files, or goods and services that do not fit the classes chosen
  • Long examination queues at the Registry, which no one can speed up

Questions people ask

Does registering in Nigeria protect me in other countries?

No. Intellectual property rights are territorial, so a Nigerian registration protects you in Nigeria. If you sell abroad, ask us about filing in those countries too.

Should I keep my idea secret until you file?

For patents and designs, yes. Showing it publicly before filing can mean it no longer counts as new. For trademarks and copyright, it does not matter.
